TONNES of earth yesterday collapsed on to a Wick playpark, forcing its closure as well as threatening to undermine the nearby rail line and temporarily suspending the service between Caithness and Inverness.

The park at the town’s Riverside has been closed to the public and trains are back on after more than six hours of disruption yesterday.
