ScotRail staff shortages are again causing disruption for train passengers travelling between Inverness and Caithness.

This morning’s 06:18 service from Wick to Inverness, due into the city at 10:39 am, started at Lairg with all stops north of the Sutherland town being serviced by rail replacement buses.

The 07:00 Inverness to Wick service, due in at 11:31, will also terminate at Lairg, again with rail replacement buses in operation for passengers unable to travel further on the Far North Line.

All passengers travelling between Caithness and Inverness today are being advised to check their service before travelling.
