DRIVERS using the A9 are being warned about a convoy system which will be in place between Pitlochry and Aviemore.

Scotland Transerv will carry out carriageway maintenance on the trunk road between A9/A889 junction to Dalwhinnie and the A9/A86 junction to Kingussie, at Cuaich between March 19 and March 30.

During construction, the trunk road will be reduced to one lane under temporary traffic signal control, with 10mph convoy working in place. Lay-by numbers 95 and 96 will be closed for the duration of the works. The work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm, from Mondays to Fridays.

Transerv Scotland say outwith working hours and throughout the weekends, traffic management will be lifted to assist the easy flow of traffic.

Local access will be maintained as far as possible and emergency services will have unrestricted access at all times.

Motorists should allow extra time for their journeys and pay attention to any advisory signs which will be in place throughout the works. For real time journey planning information visit www.trafficscotland.org.
