Caithness Krakens will have to win on the road if they are to make it through to the final of a national knockout tournament.

They face an early rematch with Kirkcaldy in the semi-finals of the National Plate.

In March last year, they returned from Fife with a 48-29 win in the same competition only to see their hopes of making it out their group snuffed out with a narrow home defeat by Strathmore.

The previous season, in their first competitive campaign, they reached the last four of the National Bowl when they lost out to eventual winners Cartha Queen's Park.

Kirkcaldy this season finished runners-up to Dunfermline in Caley Midlands/East Division 2.

Like the Pool D victors Krakens, they racked up three bonus wins out of three in Pool C, confirming their qualification with a 34-21 success at Bishopton on Sunday.

They will host the Pool D winners in the first semi on Saturday, April 6.

The other tie sees Pool A winners Uddingston meet Pool B winners Perthshire on Sunday, April 7.
