Victor said: “My wife and myself came to Wick six years ago after buying Wickers World cafe and B&B.

“We fell in love with the place at first sight. The locals are very friendly and welcomed us as if we had been here all our lives. They have supported us and the cafe and have watched our progress as we updated the look of the place throughout.

“We are hoping that whoever the next owners are will carry on with this and add their own personal touch to Wickers World.”

Wickers World has a high rating on Tripadvisor with 195 mainly positive reviews giving it a rating of 4.5 out of 5. The business won a Restaurant Guru award in 2021 for the ‘Best Cafe in Wick’.

ASG states on its website: “Wickers World is a popular and busy restaurant/cafe with rooms, overlooking the harbour in Wick. The business is successful and enjoys a consistent turnover level, but there is still potential to increase this significantly by extending opening hours, opening on Sundays and utilising the letting rooms more effectively.

“The area is popular with locals and tourists alike, and there is a further captive customer base from the workers involved with the offshore Beatrice windfarm.”

Victor added: “We will be sad to leave our dream but we’re not getting any younger and feel it’s our time to go. We are planning on moving back home to East Lothian.”
