Bus blocks Wick junction





A Megabus broke down and blocked a junction in Wick earlier today with traffic having to make detours via Francis Street or Thurso Road.

The bus sat at an angle on the junction between West Banks Avenue and Newton Road for over an hour at around noon and police attended the scene.

Police attending the incident could be seen directing motorists to alternative routes and several cars were witnessed making U-turns on West Banks Avenue.

Vehicles were unable to access the junction between West Banks Avenue and Newton Road in Wick until the bus could be removed.

A police spokesperson said that mechanics attended to the broken down bus which was eventually removed after 1pm today.
