A man caught driving while he was disqualified will be sentenced next month.

Martin Gunn of Holburn Avenue, Thurso pleaded guilty at Inverness Sheriff Court of being behind the wheel on the A832 near Gairloch on February 16 this year.

Sheriff Sara Matheson deferred sentence until November 28 for a background report before being told the facts, after defence solicitor Willie Young told her a report would be required.

His client, he explained, is currently on a community payback order for other matters making the report a statutory requirement.
