Free series of XpoNorth workshops to 'demystify' live streaming
Highland organisations will be able to expand their global reach by taking part in a free series of workshops guiding them through the technical and creative elements of live streaming.
The sessions are being hosted by the Highlands and Islands creative support organisation XpoNorth Digital. It says the aim is to "demystify" the subject and give participants the technological skills to succeed.
Workshops will be held on February 9, 16 and 23 and March 2.
Led by Dougal Perman and Anny Deery from live-streaming specialists Inner Ear, the course will engage participants through group discussions, demonstrations and practical exercises. No specialist knowledge is required for participation, other than having a smartphone, laptop or tablet with a webcam and basic knowledge of social media platforms.
Alex Smith, programme manager at XpoNorth Digital, said: ‘‘Live streaming offers a fantastic opportunity for networks across the Highlands and Islands to reach new and existing audiences regionally, nationally and internationally.
"We’re delighted to have teamed up with Inner Ear to produce this custom-designed series of workshops, specifically aimed at increasing technical and strategic skills and supporting participants to gain an insight into how live streaming could impact their business or project.”
Dougal Perman, director at Inner Ear, said: “By participating in this course, we hope people will feel empowered and equipped to reach, and interact with, remote audiences by making their own live programmes using kit they already have and readily available apps and platforms.”
Individuals interested in signing up to the workshops can find further information on the XpoNorth website.
XpoNorth Digital is part of the Northern Innovation Hub, a project funded through the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal.
