WICK swimming pool looks set to have a new future after it was confirmed bids have been received to purchase the building which will close later this year.

Highland Council said there has been interest from four parties to purchase the facility in Burn Street with the leisure centre complex set to relocate to the Wick community campus in October.

An asking price of £100,000 was set for the facility which comprises the pool, changing rooms and gym.

Three of the four bids submitted are for in excess of £100,000 but a deal is yet to be reached.

Wick Swimming Pool is one of a number of Council owned building which is currently up for sale due to major construction projects in the town.

South Primary School, Wick High School and Wick Library are also up for sale with Highland Council inviting expressions of interest to purchase the buildings.
