Highlands and Islands award for local Legion branch

The Wick, Canisbay and Latheron branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland has received a region-wide accolade in recognition of its achievements over the past year.

The A R Henderson Trophy – awarded annually to the most efficient and progressive branch in all aspects of Legion activities within the Highlands and Islands area – was presented to branch chairman Alex Paterson by Jon Brookes, Highlands and Islands area chairman.

Mr Brookes had travelled to Caithness for a dedication service of the new Legion standard for the branch. The service was held in Wick St Fergus and was followed by a reception in Mackays Hotel.
