Learner fined for driving without 'L' plates

A learner driver who failed to display "L" plates was fined £200 at Wick Sheriff Court on Monday.
William Sutherland (37) pleaded guilty and incurred three penalty points.
The offence occurred on the A836 near the junction of Hill of Forss, on December 8, last year.
It was stated that Sutherland, of Stroma Road, Thurso, didn't take advantage of a fixed penalty offer and the matter was automatically referred to the court.
