A sheriff has called for a background report on a Lybster man who admitted a disturbance at Caithness General Hospital and after he was arrested.

Fiscal depute Shay Treanor said on Tuesday that Cormack uttered threats of violence to medical staff and lunged at them.

The accused’s tirade continued at the police station where he struggled with police officers and demanded they “f*** off back to England”.

Cormack, of Main Street, Lybster, was granted bail and will return to court to be sentenced on December 23.
