Amateur photographers now have a little extra time to send in their photographs for our 2023 Caithness Calendar competition.

Readers have already been sending in some fantastic images hoping to win a place in next year's calendar, but the deadline to submit images will now be extended from this Sunday to August 14.

People can submit photographs of the county in all four seasons to the publishers of the Caithness Courier and John O'Groat Journal, with the winners having pride of place in the calendar.

From your entries, we’ll choose the 12 images of Caithness that will be used to illustrate the calendar, with the overall winning entry being given pride of place on the front cover.

HOW TO ENTER:

  • Find your best shots. Please remove any watermarks or date stamps.
  • Ensure images are high-resolution jpg files (minimum size 2MB)
  • Email them to editor@nosn.co.uk with "2023 calendar photos" as the subject line.
  • Include: A caption stating the location of the picture; your name; a daytime phone number.
  • Please note: Due to the high volume of entries we receive, we are not able to acknowledge receipt of images.

By taking part, you’ll be in with a chance of having your photo included in the calendar and receiving a free copy of the final product, which will be on sale later this year.

Those whose pictures are selected will also receive a copy of this year’s Caithness photo book.

By entering, you are granting us permission to reproduce your image for the calendar, as well as in our newspapers and websites. You will retain the copyright of the image.

The deadline for entries is 11.59pm on Sunday, August 14.
