NHS Highland confirm permanent doctors hired at Thurso practice

NHS HIGHLAND is to employ two GPs at a medical practice in Thurso which it took over more than two years ago.

Susan Mackenzie and Chris Duckham have being doing regular locum stints at Riverbank Medical Practice since a previous independent partnership dissolved in January 2013 and the health board was unable to find a successor.

Dr Mackenzie, from Edinburgh, is set to take up a full-time post and Dr Duckham will practice there on a part-time basis while continuing to work as a part-time partner at the health centre in Tongue. The posts are to start in April.
