NHS Highland have announced overnight services at Dunbar Hospital in Thurso will be temporarily suspended this weekend.

The Minor Injury Unit/Urgent Care Centre will be closed from 7pm to 7am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday due to continued staffing pressures.

NHS Highland said the decision was taken so the nursing staff available can ensure that the current in-patients at the hospital are safely cared for.

The MIU’s daytime service from 7am in the morning to 7pm in the evening will remain unaffected and the Out of Hours Service will continue as normal.

Members of the public will be able to contact the on-call Out of Hours doctor between 7pm in the evening to 7am in the morning by calling NHS 24 on 111.
