Caithness entertainer Brandon McPhee was keen to acknowledge the support he receives from the public after being named among the winners in the 10th Hot Country TV awards in Ireland.
The 25-year-old was presented with the Shand Morino Accordion Player of the Year accolade at the event in the Slieve Russell Hotel in County Cavan. It was the fourth time Brandon and his band had attended the awards show hosted by Hugh O'Brien and the Hot Country TV team.
Brandon has been touring in Ireland this month with band members Manson Grant, Robert Cameron, Addie Harper and Geoff McCook, playing in Cork, Cavan, Westmeath and Comber.
"I’m so delighted to bring this award back to Caithness," Brandon said. "We have been made to feel very welcome and it's great to be back doing what we love.
"I’m very thankful for the support that we have, as all this would not be possible without the public. We are looking forward to our next theatre concert tour in June, and we are always delighted with the amount of Caithness residents that travel to see us in some of these shows."

The band also visited Tullamore and met up with many of the artistes at the newly opened internet station Reach Out Radio.
Brandon was invited to take a class in button accordion at the Cork Academy of Music. "I was made to feel very welcome," he added.
Brandon recalled recently how Ireland had begun to feel almost like a second home for the band until Covid-19 caused the cancellation of all live dates.
