Wick care home residents show their love on Valentine’s Day
Love was in the air for residents at Seaview House Care Home in Wick as they celebrated Valentine’s Day on February 14 in style.
The day began with some flower arranging and residents were able to create their own special personalised bouquets.
Fresh flowers were donated by Andrew Simpson of Simpson’s Garden Centre in Inverness for the event.
Pastries and hot drinks were served and after lunch there was entertainment from musician Elizabeth Jones.
Elizabeth, who began playing the violin at the age of eight, is a renowned professional musician and a member of the Highland Chamber Orchestra.
The home’s activities coordinator Caz McLauchlan said: “This Valentine’s Day, the residents of Seaview were treated to celebration of love, creativity and culture, embracing the essence of romance and refinement.
“The day was filled with floral beauty, French-inspired treats, exquisite music, and delightful company. Elizabeth’s graceful performance transfixed us all with familiar tunes to new ones.
“The afternoon came to a close with smiles, cheerful faces and a warmth that we all had spent our Valentines like we deserve to.”
Seaview House is run by Barchester Healthcare and offers nursing care, respite and short stays, and dementia care from its Broadhaven Road premises.
