Volunteer firefighters spent last Saturday raising cash from charity donations from a special car wash day outside their Wick base.

The selfless fire crew scrubbed and polished cars then doused off the motors with their powerful hoses.

Wick Fire Station's watch commander Colin Gunn said: "We made a good amount of money today at the fire brigade charity car wash with £380 raised. A big thank you to the public that turned up to get their car washed, and for their generous donations."

Colin said the funds go to the Fire Fighters Charity and that it was the station's first charity car wash since the Covid restrictions came into operation two years ago.
