Scrabster man banned over vehicle drug charge

A Scrabster man was found to be in charge of his car while over the drug limit.

Andrew Sutherland was banned for eight months after pleading guilty at Wick Sheriff Court this week.

The 49-year-old tested positive in Ormlie Road, Thurso, on February 2. A follow-up analysis revealed a reading of 3.5 mcg of Delta-9- tetrahydrocannabinol- the legal limit is 2 mcg.

In addition to the ban, Sutherland, of Scrabster House, Holborn Head, was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid community work.
