A 'SERIOUS' road crash has sparked the closure of the A9 in part of Ross-shire, police have warned.
Emergency crews were called out to a section of the busy trunk road between Dalmore and Achnagarron at 9.11pm.
Officers said that two vehicles were involved.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said that three appliances had been sent to the scene – two from Invergordon and one from Dingwall.
A police spokesman said: "Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journey, asked to avoid the area and thanked for their patience."
Traffic Scotland has urged drivers to "use an alternative route at this time".
