SCRABSTER was under siege from a Norse “invasion” as over 20 vikings sailed across the Pentland Firth to plunder locals’ beer and money… for about 40 minutes.

The Scalloway Viking Squad sent its crew to the port in a unique fundraising event to raise money for cancer charity CLAN.

The Vikings arrived on the MV Hamnavoe at Scrabster at 6.20pm but were forced to leave its galley in Stromness as there was no room available on the Serco Northlink vessel.

They spent 40 minutes in the port raising as much money as possible and also raided Popeye’s for a wee dram before heading back on the ferry and sailing to Stromness at 7pm.
