WATCH: Dramatic moment of impact as two vessels collide in Wick harbour
A video was posted publicly on social media showing the moment two vessels collided in Wick harbour last week with the smaller boat being crushed against the wall.
Investigations are still being carried out following the collision on Thursday morning. The video shows the smaller boat being crushed against the harbour wall and tilting at a severe angle as the bow of the larger vessel impacts it.
The video appeared on a post in the Facebook group called SHIPS ACCIDENTS AT SEA and also showed two photographs of damage to the small fishing boat. The smaller boat also appears to have the registration SY309 which Maritime Information states is the 8.22m Delta Dawn from the home port of Scrabster and which has a fibreglass hull.
Harbour master Ian Cormack said: “Wick Harbour Authority can confirm that there was a collision between two vessels in the harbour yesterday [Thursday] morning, one of which suffered damage which has yet to be assessed.

“Thankfully there were no injuries and investigations are ongoing as to the cause of the collision.”
