Wick court to get new procurator fiscal depute
THE new procurator fiscal depute covering the spot left by David Barclay will take up his post in the coming week.
A Crown Office spokesperson has confirmed that Fraser Matheson is to start working at Wick Sheriff Court after Mr Barclay moved to Dundee to take up a post as a specialist prosecutor based there.
Mr Barclay has served as senior fiscal depute in Caithness for the past seven years.
Sheriff Andrew Berry said: “I think I welcomed Mr Barclay to this court seven years ago and at the time wished him well.
“We are all very grateful to him for his help and assistance. We are sorry to lose him and he will be hard to replace but, of course, all the same courtesies will be given to his successor.
“We do know Mr Barclay will maintain contact with the county and I look forward to keeping in touch.”
