A FAR north teacher is gearing up to run 30 10ks in 30 days to raise funds for a local play project.

Grant Mackenzie plans to run every day of September as part of his Run Grant Run challenge.

The deputy head of Wick High, is inviting others to join him in his daily jogsin aid support of Staxigoe Playpark Project.

Living close to the village and having two young children, he thinks having an outdoor space for kids to play in is very important.

His effort will kick off next Thursday and will see him travel 186 miles over the month.

Mr Mackenzie has already raised £450 for the cause but hopes to raise a lot more.

To follow Mr Mackenzie’s effort or to support his cause go to the Run Grant Run Facebook page.
