Police Scotland appeal for witness to A9 crash in Golspie. Sutherland, which left pedestrian in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, with ‘serious’ injuries
Police investigating a serious road collision that left a pedestrian in hospital have appealed for anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
The A9 was closed for more than five hours on Friday night after a collision on Main Street in Golspie involving a 62-year-old woman pedestrian and a Hyundai i20.
The incident occurred around 8.50pm, with emergency services rushing to the scene. The woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with “serious injuries”. At the time of writing, on Saturday afternoon, police said she was still in hospital, where medical staff described her condition as “serious”.
The road reopened at around 2.30am on Saturday morning.
Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses who may have seen the collision or the moments before it occurred.

Sergeant Chris Donaldson, Road Policing North, said: "A number of people came to the woman’s aid following the crash and have been spoken to by officers.
“However, we are still keen to hear from anyone, who has not already come forward but who may have information that may assist our enquiry, to contact us.”
Information can be passed to officers via 101, quoting “incident number 3580 of Friday, October 11”.
