North Apex gymnasts’ hard work is rewarded
A busy year of competitions for Wick-based North Apex Gymnastics Club began with two floor and vault events.
Thirty-one gymnasts attended the annual Fyrish Invitational in Alness. For many this was their first competition, and the coaches were proud to see the club represented at such a high standard.
North Apex gymnasts received top-six placings in every category they entered.
Seventeen of the gymnasts took part in the North District competition in Garioch. With clubs attending from all over the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire, there were over 230 gymnasts competing and the North Apex coaches were thrilled with how the gymnasts held their own.
The club achieved several top-six placings, with 12 of the gymnasts receiving a distinction score.
Competition coach Suzanne Bain said: “We are so proud of every gymnast who represented North Apex at these competitions.
“The gymnasts train really hard in the gym, increasing their skill level and perfecting their routines and vaults, and I am delighted to see their hard work being rewarded.”
