Wick and District Darts League: Repeat of last season’s Knockout Cup final in last eight





The last eight in Wick and District Darts League’s Knockout Cup will see a repeat of last year’s final with Seaforth taking on holders Seaview.

This week’s ties also saw victories for RBL, Castletown Poachers, Norseman, Comm and Smiddy “3”.

Quarter-final draw: Seaforth v Seaview; RBL v Castletown Poachers; Norseman v Comm; Smiddy “3” v Old Smiddy Inn.

Last season Seaview got the better of Seaforth in a close final. That allowed the John O’Groats team to complete the season with a 100 per cent record as they added the Knockout Cup to their league title.

So far this season there have been 49 maximums, with three each from Marc Macgregor (Seaview), Donald Sutherland (Comm), Sid Davidson (Harper’s “B”) and Aidan Sutherland (Castletown Poachers).

Danny Hughes (Seaview), Kevin Macgregor (Seaview) and Martin Nicolson (Seaforth) have each had two maximums, while 31 others have had one each.

There have been 42 ton-plus checkouts to date. Ryan Campbell (Seaview) has racked up four of them – 150, 141, 116 and 103 – and so has Kevin Macgregor (Seaview) with 120, 112, 109 and 108.

Six players have managed two ton-plus checkouts each, and 22 others one each.

Highest checkouts so far have come from Michael Sinclair (Smiddy “3”) among the men, with 170, and Alison Tait (Seaforth “B”) for the ladies with 120.

Shortest legs to date: Marc Macgregor (Seaview), 11 darts; Stewart Tait and Ryan Campbell (Seaview), 17 darts in 601 pairs.
